Parent Involvement

Parental involvement is vital to the continuation and improvement of the Hope CDC.  As such, the center has an “Open-Door-Policy”. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to visit the center at any time without prior scheduling.  Parents may volunteer to be a part of a Parent Advisory Committee that will help guide the policies of the CDC.  To inform parents of their child’s growth and development, written progress reports are issued twice a year for preschoolers, and every four months for infants and  toddlers during parent conferences.  For parents’ convenience, evening conferences may be scheduled.

The Director or Head Teacher will be available throughout the day if parents have questions or concerns. Parents are encouraged to volunteer at the center any time they are available. They may share any special talents or skills that they have with the children, help with repairs and maintenance or act as chaperones on field trips and special events.  Please feel free to discuss this with your child’s teacher. Our Parent Resource room located in suite 226 will be open and equipped with books, pamphlets and multimedia for check out or perusal.

Parent Communication

Communication with the parents is accomplished in a variety of ways.  A Parent Survey is one method of soliciting input regarding the operation of Hope CDC; it also helps to evaluate the areas that need improvement.  Lesson plans, snack schedules and other information are posted weekly on the Parent Info Notice Board.  Daily Activities forms are completed to inform parents of their child’s daily routine and include some of the following: meal information, naps, toileting.  A newsletter that informs the parents of Center activities, upcoming events, items to be saved for the center, classroom activities, staff news, and monthly menu is available each month on our web site.  Notices of various items of interest to the parents are posted on the parent bulletin board located in each program area.
