Hope Child Development Center

81 Olive Street, New Haven, CT 06511

Hope Child Development Center (Hope CDC) is licensed by the State of Connecticut to provide a full-day, year-round program serving up to 97 infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners, and school-aged children. Formerly Hope Childcare Center, we began operations in the fall of 2001, conducting programming from the basement of Christ Presbyterian Church.

Today, Hope CDC operates five days per week, opening at 7:30 a.m. and closing at 5:30 p.m. Designed as a community resource for all children, the Center provides an educationally sound program rooted in Christian principles and values within a safe, healthy, and nurturing

environment.

Our operations are principally funded through parent fees, Early Start CT, Care4Kids, and, to a lesser extent, contributions from individuals and foundations. Parent fees are billed on a monthly, biweekly, or weekly basis and are payable in advance.

At Hope, we are committed to playful learning as the foundation of children’s development. Consistent with OEC regulations and NAEYC standards, play is not viewed as separate from learning but as the way children explore, discover, problem-solve, and grow across all

developmental domains

Director
Hope Child Development Center

Welcome from Our Director

For more than two decades, Hope has been committed to strengthening children, supporting families, and serving our community through faith in action. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment where they are known, loved, and encouraged to reach their God-given potential.

Today, that mission continues to grow. Through Hope Child Development Center, CERCLE, and the future expansion of Legacy Learning Lab and Genesis Education Center, we are building opportunities that extend beyond classrooms to strengthen families and create lasting change throughout our community.

Whether you are a parent, educator, community partner, volunteer, or donor, thank you for taking the time to learn about Hope. We invite you to join us as we continue living out our faith through service, excellence, and a shared commitment to every child and family we serve.

Newborns & Infants

Our Newborn/Infant Program provides a nurturing and supportive environment that surrounds your babies with caring adults who will respond quickly, warmly, and attentively to your baby’s cues.

Toddlers

Our Toddler Program offers a consistent schedule where your toddlers acquire the skills to learn, play and grow alongside each other. Our rooms are arranged to support your little one’s efforts to explore and do things on their own.

Pre-School & Kindergarten

The Pre-School & Kindergarten program at Hope strikes the right balance to school readiness that prepares each child to meet the increasing skill requirements while maintaining an environment of fun and play.

School-age

Hope Child Development Center ensures that families have continuous care throughout the school year. School age children are provided a safe and structured environment, where they are supported with homework, provided a nutritious snack, and led in a daily bible lesson that teaches and reinforces the values of good citizenship.

Summer Camp

Hope Child Development Center offers a multi-week summer program for children ages 5-12 that promotes their development through art, reading and various recreational indoor and outdoor activities.
